The ghost of Tom Crocker, a pirate who used the island as his lair, reputedly haunts the island (pictured above). The apparition is said to walk the island during the third week in August, which coincides with the anniversary of his execution by hanging in 1395. Locals and holidaymakers celebrate the occasion with an annual celebration.
